STRUCTURAL DESIGN IN STEEL AND CONCRETE

Although temporary works design forms the core of our business our structural engineering skills are also applicable to the design of permanent structures.  We have designed many varied structures in steel, reinforced concrete, and timber for a number of clients.  These clients have often been contractors undertaking work with a design and build element.  This page is intended to give an indication of the breadth of our experience in this area.

Southampton Town Quay.
We were engaged by Raynesway Construction Southern to design tubular steel piled jetty with a reinforced concrete deck to enable them to submit a design and

build tender to Associated British Ports.

City Point Building, London.
We were engaged by Swift Structures Ltd. to design parts of the permanent floor slabs which they were supplying under a design and build contract.  Their metal decking subcontractor provided designs for the slabs on metal decks and we designed all the slabs constructed on soffit formwork.

Royal Quays Marina.
We were engaged by Dean and Dyball Marine to provide tender design of laterally loaded tubular steel piles to restrain marina pontoons.

Thatcham Culverts.
We were engaged by Raynesway Construction Southern to provide detailed design of a number of permanent culverts during construction of the new Thatcham Distributor Road.

Titchfield Haven Quay Wall.
We were engaged by Hill Head Sailing Club to design and supervise construction of a replacement timber quay wall when the original structure was severely damaged by scour.

Hillingdon Station Pile Caps.
We were engaged to assist other consultants in the re-design of reinforced concrete pile caps to suit the as-built positions of bored piles.
